I know theres a million of these across the forums, however if searched and searched to try and find a solution for my current problem. One of my turbo VL's is currently not starting properly/first time. It starts for sure, however it will take aprox 4 cranks or 4 turns of the key. It seems to need 4 or 5 primes of the fuel pump to start, hence when you crank a vl over and it doesnt fire, the fuel pump still finishes to prime. so i do this 4 or 5 times and then it will start. once its running... it's fine, and if i turn it off and try it again it'll start first time... before i start trying replacing all the sensors anyone else come across this problem. Cheers Johny

There is a 1 way valve on the exit of the stock pressure pump. If this is sticking open or if you've replaced the pump (and not the valve) you will get this problem. When the cars off overnight, fuel pressure bleeds off back through the pump. In the morning it needs to pressurise and bleed air from the system before it will start.
