Guys & Girls, Im after some help with a suspension set up for my vy calais. I bought the car and it had pedders springs in it but standard shocks. Now i want to replace the standard shocks with monroe gt sports shocks, are monroe gt sports shocks any good? I have seen people use them with lowered springs. Also I have 19 inch ve ssv wheels and i want the guard to sit just above the rim in the rear, what springs would you recommend, king spring super low or king spring super super low? Any help is much appreciated, will I need an adjustable panhard rod?? anything else needed?? Thanks.

Monroe are crap. You are better off with Pedders or KYB, or Koni if you have money VYs have IRS which doesn't use panhard rods You should look at upgrading the sway bars and bushes at the same time

Sounds like you'll need to cut or compress them to get it as low as you want. If you do that you'll need to get your shocks shortened to suit, otherwise the springs could fall out

I don't want to cut springs that's for sure... Yeah I'm planning on shortened shocks all round as the springs are lowered springs.. Hopefully king spring super super lows do the job!!

You missed my point. You need short stroke shocks for lowered springs, but if you want to go lower again you can shorten them more and cut or compress the springs. Theres nothing wrong with cut springs as long as they're captive, hence the need to shorten the already short shock
