1987 VL BT1 Genuine Absynth Yellow History: Car originated from Brunswick Police Station, Victoria. Was a genuine police interceptor. The VL was in service and first resisted by Brunswick Police Station from 31/03/1987, unsure exactly how long the car was in service for but the registration was changed on the 11/04/1988. After months of searching I purchased this car on the 23/01/2010, It was pretty much what i was after and the price suited me. Although i would have preferred it to be still complete it was all genuine, no previous damage or accidents, it hadn't been hacked up, and has little to no rust. Plans: Street Registered 300 RWKW Possibly hit a 10.0 Clean up body Absynth Yellow Respray with MX Grey bars Tidy Up the engine bay without going too over board All original and stock interior 16" Interceptors Interior: Basically stock Genuine BT1 interior in saddlewood Gearbox: MX7 Gearbox, Jim Berry Clutch Diff: VL Turbo 28 spline Diff LSD Center 3.45 Brakes: 300mm VT Brake Upgrade Slotted Rotors Stainless Lines Hel Brake Lines Engine: VLT A8 Motor Rebuild Ross Forged Pistons Spool Rods ARP Head Studs Custom Grind Cam GT35/40 .82 Rear Custom Exhaust Manifold Turbosmart 50mm waste gate Dump pipe CPC Street Plenum PWR Intercooler PWR Radiator Thermo Fan MSD Ignition Hidden Wiring Exhaust 3" Exhaust Magna flow Muffler High flow cat Update: Current Tune: 338rwkw @ 17psi 1/4 Mile Times: First pass was 13.7 2nd Pass was 13.0 3rd Pass was 12.4, R/T .335, 87.98MPH

Sounds good, only thing you could ditch would be the forged pistons if you're not aiming for much higher power figures although its good to get done while the motor is apart if you're going to up the power later.

i just picked up my A8 blocked yesterday ready for assembling block bored 20thou,crack test, honed, decked, acid dipped, welsh plugs replaced crank shaft linished, crank crack tested checked all conrods for size The cyl head full over haul crack/pressure test surface grind ,reface all lifters reset the preloads lapp the vavles, replace the stem seals and cleaned and reassembled so its read to fit to engine Fully balanced fit new pistons to rods (forgies Wiseco) check oil pump for clearances and for wear supply engine bearings big ends and mains I think i have left something out all that for $1200 The guy who done it for me is old school machine shop he does everything him self. whilst i was there picking up stuff an engine recond shop was dropping stuff to him to be machined. this guy is a legend The engine is ready for assembling i have to pull my finger out LOL

Going through the quote one last time before i take it in, anyone else think im missing something? Just in regards to the turbo/tuning/computer side of things, do those work shops care if the motors been built by others??? sorrry for all the questions as said this is the first turbo motor ive done... thanks for the help advice so far...
