I've owned this gem for over 15 years. It's a genuine factory 86 VL calais Rb30et.I rebuit the motor before chrismas with a full ballance,ALC duralite pistons,ARP rod bolts, rods closed and honed new valves+springs. It drives that well I drove from sydney to grafton just to pickup the simons wheels.I smashed 4 autos before converting to MX7 with brass button clutch.Over 3 months Ive installed a Garret gt35/40R turbo,38mm Turbosmart wastgate with full 3" stainless exhust,Nisspro intercooler,750cc injectors with billet fuel rail and sard fuel Reg,60mm Throttle body, which ment standared ECU was dumped for Autronic SM4.I'll be getting a dyno shortly and keep updates as I will be stripping motor back down soon for some forged pistons, rods, head stud kit. Make / Model:VL Calais Colour:Gold Bodykit: Calais Engine Type: RB30et Engine Mods:GT35/40r,750cc inj,SM4 Power: 400+RWHP Exhaust: 3" stainless Gearbox: MX7 Diff: 3.45 Brakes: Turbo Suspension:lowerd Wheels/Tyres: simons Interior: calais Stereo:standard Other Mods: HDI dual stage boost controller Future mods:Forged Pistons, rods,ARP head studs, cosmic head gasket http://s1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa461/gokart07/ ---------- Post added 08-02-11 at 16:28 ---------- Just worked out how to add pics Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Thanks for the feedback guys,I do love the look of polished calais wheels. If any one has a Autronic SM4 1.09 cal file they would like to share be GR8.My base map is running rich and over boost needs setting up as it cuts out under boost/Load. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Yeh mate Ebay is the best for bargins.I picked up a MX7 with shifter and speedo drive the other day for $510. Handy to have a spare as I tweaked around with my Autronic SM4 now when she hits 14psi in second gear it fries the tyres hard. She's ready for the creek see what it pulls down the quarter.

Your spot on about the mf5 I ran one for over 6 month with no problems.I pick up my first MX7 complete conversion for $800 and i'm using a brass button clutch as once an organic plate slips under load its all over.

I got my Clutch from the guys at St Marrys brake & Clutch. These boys are highly recommended for there work as I have a lovely clutch pedal now.But its still a button clutch so you do have to learn to drive it properly.I'm in the process of setting up my Turbosmart plumb back BOV and don't have a great deal of room to do this.I've added a photo were I think it should be set up (plumb back into the intake before turbo) If this setup is wrong please let us know befor I start chopping and welding. Thanks Guys Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
