Hi guys, I was looking at either a mini spool or an LSD. I've been quoted $350 for a minispool fitted and $1500 for an LSD fitted with 3.9 gears. Both of these include labour. I was after some feedback with anyone that has a minispool in there daily car. Also if $1500 is too much for this. Does anyone know of anywhere cheaper in the Melbourne Northern Suburbs.

ive got a mini spool in my ute as a daily. i love the mini spools . to me it seems to be a bit to much $1500. i did myn all myself it only costed me $100 just for the mini spool and fitted it in all by myself lol. and if u want diff gears they go for around the $400 dollar mark. try preston automatics and diffs, g&j diffs, sunshine diffs,hi tech diffs maidstone for a quote Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

$1500 for a minispool fitted with 3.9 gears... fark me that's expensive!! LSD is best for daily, for a start its the legal option

Minispools are the best. tonnes of people drive minispooled cars daily. depends if you can tolerate it. you shouldnt pay more than $8-900.

My opinion is that if it is rarely driven on the street, but sees track time fairly often (eg, Test & tunes, track days, powercruise, etc) - then a minispool (or full spool / other locker) is fine. *ps, the law may disagree with my opinion on what is "fine". But a daily driver with stuff all power & mods that you want to go round thinking you are king **** doing 1st gear burnouts... then stick to the LSD / fully legal option. *ps, the law may disagree with doing any burnouts on road or road related areas.

Yes it is. I'm not chasing power out of a 6. Just want a little bit of fun here and there.

live axle or IRS rear end? I can't remember when it all changed over. If you need a LSD + gears + built $1500 probably isn't too bad. Personally I would just look for a second hand LSD centre and swap them over. Be a thousand times cheaper and give you the fun your after.

It's a lot of money to spend on a V6 just to have some "fun". I'd suggest a night with a classy hooker would be more bang for your bucks

Get a mini spool or you will be recoing your lsd every few months. PS: This topic has been done more times then a thai hooker.

its abiout a grand for a lsd re build, and around 400 for gears, so 1500 all up isnt bad but id only do it on a car im building,, not a daily mini spool is the way to go for a daily
