should need engineers as the walkys came out with inj 8's but for a safety aspect you would want to upgrade to turbo/v8 spec brakes and suspension

Give the RTA a call, they will let you know what you need to do. I know in WA that after this conversion you would have to take the car over the pits and if any of the conversion needed a mod certificate they would do them there. NSW is probably different but they should be able to tell you over the phone.

Quote: hey guys any1 done this recently? what process did u have to go through to get it legaly registered cheers I could imagine that all you would need is a blue slip to get it passed in NSW because a VL Commodore was factory fitted with a 304c.i. engine. Only if you were doing a conversion such as fitting a Holden V6 or imported RB series engine you would need an engineers report done up as those engines were never factory fitted into a VL Commodore by Holden. I got away with fitting an RB30DE engine because the RB30 block was fitted by Holden at the factory, people ask those sorts of questions all the time, such as "Do you need an engineer certificate to get a VT Commodore brake conversion done on a pre VT Commodore?" Technically yes, but how many people start asking questions about a pre VT Commodore (assuming it's a rear disc brake setup) that has VT brake calipers & hubs that are a straight bolt up fit to say a VL Commodore for example ? Providing that it's fitted with a V8/turbo master cylinder/booster setup (1 inch master cylinder) so it maintains the right pedal feel and braking performance then nobody is going to ask any questions.
