Im wrecking a vl and tryna work out exactly what rear end it has. The cars not driving either. I know theres some technique with turning one wheel etc but not 100%. I turned the L/h wheel and the r/h wheel turn opposite direction a little. I wana try working out if its 25 or 28 and if its lsd or single without having to pull the thing apart. Any help would be much appreciated guys thx Laura

The only way the check the spline is by taking the axles out and counting them or checking the tag (if it has one). To see if it is a limo when spinning one axle the opposite axle should spin in the same direction. The best way is to pull the plate at the back off and check the centre. Hope that is helpfull

never trust the 'spinning the wheel' method to determine what centre is in it, take the backplate off!

jack up one wheel only with gearbox in neuteral and handbrake off. if you can spin the wheel its open wheeler. if the axles are 28 spline there will be numbers 950 & 951 cast on the ends in the centre where the wheels bolt to them.
