dan are you coming up to perth at any point? i have a kaaz in my vl and can demonstrate how they are superior.
havent had a lockrite or trutrac etc, went from open->spool->kaaz.
however the kaaz is so smooth, you dont notice it. from what i understand of the other sorts they kind of "bang" into lock, and are noisy and harsh, where as a kaaz is progressive and smooth, however it is also very instantaneous under hard acceleration.
for a street car i dont see why you would go anything but a kaaz.
also, i havent heard or seen of any of them wearing out, they last ages. im sure if you tried hard enough you could kill it, but its unlikely.

i'd say provided you run it in enough would be fine for lots of abuse, maybe not 20 years of burnout pad action but they are known for their strength.
i would put my money on axles/pinion/gearteeth giving out before a kaaz.
are you buying a new or 2nd hand kaaz? because they can be ****ed if they arent run in propperly and not given the right oil or run dry?
theres a guy down your way, terry of South West Automatic Transmissions, he built the kaaz in my car and has been helpful since. (my rear end is making a noise, like a solid bang, under hard lock or unlock, unlikely to be the diff and certainly isnt the centre. more than likely a weak suspension joint somewhere).
will you have the chance to hear the kaaz and drive on it before you buy it?
