I have HSV SV5000 330mm fronts and standard rears on my Calais and looking into if its worth upgrading the brakes to the VE ones. Has anyone used theses? or should I just to keep what I got?

Stick with what you have as it is more than fine and if you haven't done it yet just fit rear slotted rotors.
I can see issues with this set up.
2 x PBR VE front calipers & performance pads
2 x PBR rear single piston VE calipers & performance pads
2 x UPC#019 OR 046, 330mm x 28mm vented rotors
2 x UPC#049, 315mm x 18mm vented rotors
VE front calipers are designed for 30mm thick rotors not 28mm thick as supplied
VE Rear calipers are designed for 22mm thick rotors not 18mm thick as supplied.
The rear 315mm kit may run a welded in steel spacer to fix the handbrake issue and i doubt that would be engineered.
The brake master cylinder would also not cope and a larger bore would be needed.

Exactly what I was thinking of doing but I was going to update all the rotors to slotted/drilled..
Thanks for your input.

pm vhr32 (i think thats his screen name, his name is Matt) if you want to organise 330mm front brakes. he sells the adaptor plats to allow you to bolt on r32 gtr or r33 gts 4pots over vn sv5000 330mm rotors, awesome performance upgrade.

yeah thats what i was leaning towards, seems to be either r32/33 brakes, rx7, vt, ve, pbr, sv5000, etc... for a reasonable price.
then if your not happy after that you spend 5k+

You could also fit a set of AP Racing 4 pot front calipers over the front SV5000 (330 X 28) rotors but this will cost atleast $2000 or so

Sorry to drag up a thread.....
so can the sv5000 rotors go straight on to the front of a VL, or do u have to get the VT style upgrade with hub adaptors etc??
Then buy the mounting plate for the caliper and bolt on R32/R33 calipers??
