So, the VL has been sitting at the side of the house for 3 weeks now. started first kick last week
moved it today... started it, moved it to the front lawn, and let it idle for 10 mins.
shut it down so i could move the other car, and went back to start the VL...
NO SPARK
can a CAS really die that quickly?

i think so, they can go gradually or all of a sudden

Try pushing the wires into the plug on the distributor or take the plug off and see if there is any corrosion inside it.
In my experience as a mechanic I have come across this numerous times.
And yes they can just suddenly stop or die slowly.
Cheers,
Glenn

^^^^^If the cas is going to work this is how to check.^^^^^^^
Can wiggle the cas plug on mine and it will cut out.
Get her in the sweet spot and she'll run all day....
