Hey Guys
Looking to save up for an ecu and im really taken by the LINK G4 Plug In for the VL, as it uses factory loom, comes with map sensor to fet rid of afm etc dual fuel maps for PULP and e85 once i get round to the fuel system. Gets fitted up straight into standard ecu case so i dont get extra hassles.
I wanna know who is using them, and what their thoughts are on it. Also if in sydney, recommended tuners?
Or should i just say fcuk it and take the car to Maatouks and wire in a microtech :P

I'm using a LINK G3. Very impressed with it. Has lots of options.
The one thing I like, If you have any queries about the options or tuning LINK have there own website with a forum for discussions. Which a LINK technician will reply.
I also believe RIPS NZ is using a LINK G4. Have a chat with him. I've heard nothing but good reports from him.
Saving up for a LINK display to have installed aswell. I've also download the LINK tuner from linkecu.com. All I need is the adapter LINK cable & I can adjust things myself with my laptop. Which I won't because I'm not that confident enough yet lol.
Have a chat to someone on this forum maybe to help find out which LINK would suit your application. There's a few different types/models to choose from.

LINK models.
featured engine management system, Link can offer a cost effective solution.
G4 Xtreme - Top End Engine Management (http://www.linkecu.com/products/engine-management-ecus/g4-xtreme)
Our most powerful engine management system ever, equals or betters any ECU on the market. Whatever the application, the G4 Xtreme's advanced configurability enables today's complex engines to be optimised.
G4 Storm - Comprehensive Engine Management (http://www.linkecu.com/products/engine-management-ecus/g4-storm) The G4 Storm delivers performance that rivals any engine management system on the market. This ECU is more than capable of running sequential injection, ignition and variable valve timing on most of today’s engines. The Storm offers all of the advanced G4 tuning features at an extremely competitive price.
G4 Plug-In - Quick Fit Engine Management (http://www.linkecu.com/products/engine-management-ecus/g4-plug-in-ecus)Free yourself from the constraints of the factory ECU. Link's G4 Plug-Ins fit discretely inside the original enclosure. Installation is a breeze, no alteration of the factory wiring loom required. An XS connector provides additional inputs and outputs such as oil pressure inputs or anti-lag / logging switches (the number available depends on the application)
G4 Atom - Entry Level Engine Management (http://www.linkecu.com/products/engine-management-ecus/g4_atom) The G4 Atom is Link's entry level ECU that blows the opposition away - half the size, all the technology!
G4 RX - Rotary Engine Management (http://www.linkecu.com/products/engine-management-ecus/g4-rx)Designed specifically for the RX Rotary (Mazda 12A and 13B engines), the G4 RX Wire-In engine management system is an exciting addition to Link's ECU range.
G4 Lightning - Ignition Management (http://www.linkecu.com/products/engine-management-ecus/g4_lightning) Ignition only engine management from Link. Eight sequential channels of ignition with built in MAP sensor and barometric correction

Quick Tune
Using PCLink (http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/../../support/downloads/pclink-download/PCLinkG4), QuickTune is an interactive tuning tool that assists in time efficient fuel tuning.
A graphical display of Target AFR (desired AFR) and Actual AFR (measured AFR) is provided. A dual pointer gauge allows the tuner to quickly see how close Actual AFR is to the Target AFR. QuickTune can be setup to operate over the entire fuel table or just over a particular area.
QuickTune can be used in Manual or Automatic modes. In Manual mode, QuickTune guides you to cell centering and advises you when is a suitable time to make a fuel table adjustment. With the press of a key a calculated adjustment is made. Often only one or two adjustments are required to tune each cell. In Automatic mode QuickTune does all the adjustments for you. This leaves the tuner free to operate the Dyno or perform other tuning work such as making ignition or cam angle adjustments.

The G4 doesnt fit into the standard ecu case as far as im aware. There is an adaptor loom that is required as you can see in the pic above. The tuning side of it is easy to use so im told, its very similar to the Motec software now, so most tuners will be able to adapt quite quickly, also link are usually very helpfull on the phone. I have the G4 Extreem in mine, pretty happy with it at the moment, does everything that I need and plenty more.

im running the link g4 in my car seems to be alright they have quite a big name over here in nz although when i took it to c&m performance to get it tuned i was told they were crap but so far so good havent had any problems

Id be happy with a good ECU that i can place in the standard VLT enclosure. the G4 plugin for a VL supposedly fits inside the standard enclosure and has the same firmware and features as a G4 extreme. The problem i think in Sydney is finding a LINK tuner whos very familiar with VLs...
When it gets closer to the time ill take a drive to maatouks (only 10 mins down the road anyway) and have a chat to him first and talk about a microtech. The LT8s and 10s look like it would fit in the enclosure... Also see if he is willing to do Haltech ecus now as well since VL GOD is using a platinum sport 2000. I dont mind spending the cash on an ecu as long as its a feature packed ecu and theres good tuners that know VLs and can tune in sydney

Only thing about the microtech I had was the cold idle was **** to non existing.. So something to think about if it's a daily.. Apart from that never had a drama.. And the link ecu looks the goods but keen to hear more from people using them on the cold and warm idle function..

anybody know how to hook up a map sensor to a link g3 thats in a vl ecu box running stadard vl loom and plugs???

Is the map sensor part of the ecu board? I wrecked a 180SX which had a Link G4 board inside the factory ecu case and I'm pretty sure the afm wires had been adapted to run the map sensor. Have you got the manual for it? All the info should be in that
