Hey mate cant give much advice as to where due to state differences but however i have heard nothing but really good things about Os Giken gear sets.
5-speed $4960 includes strengthened input shaft
The gears in this kit are rated for 1200hp, however due to the limitations of the Nissan synchros above 9000rpm, it is generally best suited to applications up to 800hp.
OS Giken ratios: 2.695, 1.703, 1.236, 1.000, 0.826
Standard ratios: 3.214, 1.925, 1.302, 1.000, 0.752

Cheers dean.

theres not to much available unfortunately. i mate of mine blew 3rd gear in his a while back (common problem apparently).
his only option was the Os Giken gearset as above, or the cheaper option, use the internals of a 300zx box. which is pretty much the same strength wise as the r33 internals.
if yours is damaged you dont have alot of options.
with my gearbox, im unsure of its internals but it shifts so much better than any other r33 5 speed ive used, but the gears are loud as fk.

Mr Transmissions, worth sending it to him mate. He has built mine billet dog box, havent had a chance to use it yet, but also built a similar box for a mate and he loves it. Awesome guy to deal with aswell

is 800hp too much for the standard internals in the box if your going to be racing it?
i spoke to dave a while ago, very nice person. he said about 5k for straight cut gears put in and rebuilt and 10k for a full dog box. He didn't say what sort of power they were rated to though.

Would be straight cut gears... they tend to be a little bit noisey but the noise is worth having a strong box.

03-01-11, 20:55 GMT+10#13 They start about $5500 includes gearset, new syncros, bearings etc. You supply the box.
Excludes 5th gear i used standard helical cut on that. Then you work from there if you want billet input output shafts etc.
Get a quote from PPG and see if what Mr Transmissions has to offer isn't a fantastic deal. Im very happy with the box. Its a little noisy 1st to 3rd but not that loud that you couldn't have a conversation in the car. 4th and 5th are quiet and you wouldn't even know there's a straight cut box in it.
Heres a video of starting 4th gear and doing a powerskid. You cant hear any whine. lool
