Finally made a start on my project car. Shell is an 84 VK Royal (similar spec to calais) low k's, mint interior and no rust. Have group A body kit, front & rear bars, grill, bonnet scoop, VH 3 piece rear spoiler and VL calais side skirts. Pedars springs, shocks, and nolathane throughout. Motor : LS1 with TR 224 cam and HD valve springs (was 280 rwkw in my VX) Trans : 4L60E auto, built to handle 700hp plus. I have fitted a VN V6 crossmember and steering rack. The rack requires a VL steering universal link shaft to be used and it all just bolts in. engine mounts and starter motor conversion (must be moved to passenger side for steering clearance) are locally made by "Belair autos" and VN V6 rubber engine mounts are used. I have it sitting in place and just fabbing up a rear gearbox mount. Also gonna get a 6 point cage, small shot of nitrous, shooting for a 9 second street car Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

LOL Haha, "Hi everyone my name is John, and i'm an addict" Gone about as far as i could with the VX without cageing it, too nice a car to turn into a race car. I enjoy the build as much as the end rusult everybody should have a project or two There is a VL Calais LS1 turbo in the build locally as well, not sure if the owners on this forum or not, it's a bigger budget build and further along the track than my VK, should be turn key in the next month or two, will be one to watch out for. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Is your mate doing a drive in drive out conversion for the owner? I'd be interested in the cost if I was to supply just the main components (LS1, T56 and T51R)
