Hey there CT!! Merry Xmas!! Sorry if this is in the wrong section i just figured it is about VLT's . But mods please feel free to move it to the appropriate section. Im curious to know how many of you have left the vl turbo scene and what you drive now ? Do you regret it? What made you leave? I'll start off , As most of you may know i was once the owner of a yellow sl turbo , which was stolen in august 09 . I then moved to the 2 wheel world and purhcased an Aprilia RSV Mille R , Soon i realised that everyday use of a motorcycle wasnt my cup of tea, So i bought a get around car Mazda 323 . Now ive started to get the power bug again and want another turbo or possibly v8 Im just curious to know peoples opinions. Cheers

A guy I used to know had 3 VL's in 2 years, first one, a red SL Turbo that got stolen, then a white SL N/A that got written off, then 2 months after buying a clean VLCT, it caught fire doing a burnout on his uncles skidpan, couldnt get to the extinguisher in time and it went up.. After that he said screw it and bought a VX.

Ive thought about selling my vlct and getting something newer, vxss or xr6t but I just cant bring myself to do it. Its my daily driver though so i do wish i had another car to. but i know id end up spending money on that to i cant help it lol. my vl gets lots more attention that any guys xr6t's that I know, it depends what your after really, sometimes less attention is good. If I had a family I would have to look at getting something else as a daily driver but when tha day comes I hope to get a daily and keep the vl for weekends

yeah man go for it they're good cars its just the idiots that go get standard ones and run 17psi through them without modifying them properly and they start complaining they have problems look after it and mod it properly and they're nice cars, heaps of room, and running 11s in one is so easy

On another note, if I were to ever get a new reliable daily and use the VL just for weekends, it'd have to be a G6E Turbo, it's been said before but I have to agree. IMO, down the track it most likely will become the 'future VLCT'.

The VL turbos have a great feeling about driving them, I dont get that from driving late model commodores... they are too soft, quiet and lack character IMO. I'l buy a new one soon as a daily.. but am very very happy with the VL s ive owned so far.

VL's are a passion i guess , so many times ive said to myself i'll just build another this time with a big hp setup , but i dont see the point anymore.. i mean youve got xr6t's running flash tune , good exhaust and a decent front mounts pumping nearly 300rwkw, I love vl's i really do but so many ppl have given them a rep its beyond a joke, i drove my mates vy ss cammed , etc etc and it felt great .. then i jumped in a vlc and went for a spin and my brain was telling me wtf would you want a 88 mdl commo with enough work to put a deposit on a house.. Im really confused lol

Went to a mint S15 after my VL with the intention of that being my daily/cruiser so was able to go back to one car...then kinda stupidly sold the S15 and bought a 32 GTR (always wanted one!) but ended up needing a daily coz its just as old and inpractical as the VL was, so ended up buying a Nissan Micra and am pretty much back where I started running 2 cars...lol.

if you want a reliable car that will pretty much destroy any other car on the road go with a 2jz, my soarer has alot of power and its non turbo i can only imagine how crazy it will be with a turbo bolted on, saying that my next car will probably be an s15 just cos i want something 4 cyl and newer.
