"A man was spotted driving 10 kilometres in the wrong direction - with his lights off - on the M4 motorway in Sydneys west early today.
Witnesses told police they saw the 22-year-old Rooty Hill man driving a Toyota Hilux ute at high speed down the M4 at St Marys, about 3.30am.
By the time police got to the motorway the man was at Colyton and had stopped the car, but was still facing east in the westbound lanes.
He failed a breath test and was taken to Nepean Hospital for a blood and urine sample.
It is expected he will face a number of charges including driving in a dangerous manner.
It is the latest incident of dangerous driving. Yesterday police arrested three people who recorded alarmingly high blood alcohol readings.
A woman who clocked a breath test almost seven times the legal limit was found passed out at the wheel of her running car at an intersection on the central coast, a man mounted a median strip and almost took out 10 cars in Sydneys west and a second man blew six times the legal blood alcohol reading after a crash near Newcastle."
