hi just wondering if you can buy defected cars in sa if so whats the go with the pit inspection if the car was defected in adelaide and has to go to regency and i buy it and live in mount gambier which is a few hundred kays from adelaide can i take it over the pits here in mount gambier

I once bought a car with a defect already on it.... sticker had been peeled off the window, plates handed in. I just fixed it up, took it through regency took the rego papers that had been signed by the previous owner to motor reg and registered it and got new plates once I had got the defect off.

i sold my defected vs cluby to a fella in mnt gambier he got the defect removed fairly easy.
i also got the defect removed from bt's old vp senator

MISSDRFT - To answer your question it is against the law to sell or dispose of a defected vehicle, as it is also against the law to allow a defected vehicle to stand on a road, however, there is a defence if you believe the vehicle is not going to be used on the road IE - selling to a wreckers.
