Hey guys , me and a mate found this vl calais turbo 1986 original five speed on the side of the side of the road 3 months ago stock standard with a microtech and a cooler and a massive 200hp atw for 7,000 .. when we found the vl in a pretty bad way but the first idea was just do have a pig to play up in and only owe us 10,000 but one thing lead to another and is still going now the first plan was just to bolt up a turbo 3 inch dump and a tune ive left alot of **** out of this post but u can see how far its come since august turbonetics turbo 50ml progate wastegate top mount manifold jpc plenium/throttle body 2 step msd ignition system full 3 inch exhaust /screemer fulll crank trigger set-up adjustable cam gear stage 4 cam valve springs microtech first tune the turbonetics turbo was coming on to late and the microtech was breaking down up top .... so we ended up changin the set up to a garrett 37/88r and sent the microtech back to microtech for them to fix the fault .... got it back together put it back on the dyno , garrett came on alot earlier but ounce agin the microtech failed sent the microtech back again ,got it back then another FAIL !! anyway after researching the problem we went for the full crank trigger set up ..... it eliminated the problem and made 418 hp on 17 psi .....the cooler wasnt flowing and the manifold was letting it down ....... so now we have a plazmaman pro series cooler on order and will be getting a 6 boost manifold in the new year ounce 6boost re-opens in the new year ... and no doubt be seeing over the 500hp as early as possibe and hope to have the engin bay painted and creame leather interior cheers Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
