Just wondering if anyone can recomend some places in vic (prefer around western suburbs) to get a few quotes on my motor rebuild... The list below is what im looking at getting done, prices ive recieved so far seem a bit over the top, if i dont find a resonable price going to do it slowly instead of all at once... Block: Hypertectic or similar Pistons Balance lower assembly New Rings and Bearing Bored Seals and gasket set Oil Pump Head: Cam - TX2 Crack Test Clean Ports K-Line Bronze Guides valves - Heavy Duty Springs and Lifters re-thread/heli-coil Prices ive been recieving are for the above and to re-assemble with stock manifold, turbo etc etc have been coming from 5k-6k Car will be a street car only, may run it a couple of times, atm ill be keeping standered turbo and manifolds, but want the bottom end to hold up for when i eventualy go for my goal of 270rwkw any advice/recomendations would be helpfull

Call James race engines/engine action. Guys there will give you a quote, and they will stick to it. Great customer service aswell. Tell them Jase with the vl put you onto them. Talk to Scott.

This might give you a rough idea. The engine rebuild was over 3 years ago & the head was only done recently. Price shouldn't be much different. Bottom end. Head Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

a stock high km bottom end with a cometic gasket will handle 270rwkw all day every day with a half decent tune.. if your not racing it, dont waste your money on a bottom end. IMO a bottom end built without aftermarket rods is a waste of time and money.

Bottom end needs to be done though to much play

i just got mine built by loui from ravenhall automotive in westwood drive deerpark and he is by far the best thats done work on my car the whole time ive had it ive been to three well known workshops and ive been unhappy with there services he works to your buidget as best he can and he gives u the right advise and listens to what ur looking for not what u should do with your money my advise go c him u wont look back pm me for his number if u want

Rang a few people, Engine Action - Prefer to test the block and head before they quote Ravenhall Automotive - Highly recomend going forged and rekon hypertek pistons are ****, (going in to speak to him for a proper quote) Power-House - Havnt rang yet, price for your bottom end looks good, so will definently call them

yeah i went to see him, he definently knows what hes talking about, but i think he wanted to go overboard on what i was after, JPC looks the go at this stage
