Hi guys and gals, Just read on a site that a guy was runnnig chev 6inch rods in his RB30. Said they had to be machined down and all. Just wondering this because chev rods are relatively cheap over here in NZ and machining is not a worry. Anyone else running something similar to this or heard of this ? Any help would be much appreciated. Tyler Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

OOhhhh, don't know about machining rods down. Wouldn't that take some of structural integrity out of the rod. Just buy some percision motorsports HP conrods. Good HP rating. That's what I'm using & came with a good price. http://www.precisionintl.com/html/pr...torsports.html (http://www.precisionintl.com/html/product/crankshaftcomp/10_motorsports.html)

You have to side clearance them(machine the sides down). Just make sure you get the right ones, Small Block Chevy's have large and small journal rods

its not really worth doin it any more mate. i got em in mine, but that was like 5 years ago. u need 6" sbc, small journal rod. small end bush needs to b replaced with a 21 mm bush. sides of rods need to b machined down along with the bearings, and crank needs to b ground to suit the bearing journal size of the rod.
