Hey, as the titale says I'm having a problem with my vs 5L not starting when its been running for a while..the only way to make it start is to give it throttle and even then it stutters and wants to stall for the first 20 seconds. could this be incorrect spark plug gapping?? mods to the engine (if this helps) are: stage 2 cam & injector package, extractors. it cranks over fine, but wont start. SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!!! cheers, josh.

no worries man..spent all day sweating ridiculously changing all plugs, leads, than taking them out again and trying a larger spark plug gap.. complete fail haha!! nothing helped. so now i have my ignition module in the freezer for a while to test if it only starts when cold..mine gets REALLY hot, you can't touch the module after 5 mins of idling. found one on ebay for $135 so i wil give it a go.

strange things always happen to my cars haha!! I found out how to do the errors check on dash and i got a code of "16" which is coolant temperature.. aka temp sensor according to some other forum users. $18 from Holden apparently and if they are faulty, it causes the car to over fuel on start up (cold start). FINGERS CROSSED!!!!! ---------- Post added 14-11-10 at 23:01 ---------- yep, problem solved. dis-connected the COOLANT SENSOR PLUG and car starts like gem!!! i'll put a new one in tomorrow. it's been a long/hot day under that damn bonnet.. thanks for everyones input! Cheers.
