Im having problems with my sub... When i start the car, there is a thud from it. When i turn the hazard lights on, its doof doofs with the hazard lights. When i select CD mode on the deck or eject/insert a CD it beats constantly for about 5 seconds. Very annoying Everything else is fine though... The connection inside the box is good, checked it twice. The RCAs are ran on the opposite side to the power cable, no interference from that. Ive tired different earth points to no avail. At the moment its earthed on the back seat plate on the barest of metal tightened up with a nut and bolt. HELP Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Have you tried running a rca filter? Which would over see your problem. What type of RCA cable are you using??

Im running..... standard RCA cables? Im also running two splitters, breaking 2 channels into 4 for the speaker amp if it makes a difference? They were new RCAs, no nics or cuts in them.

There's a couple here. http://shop.ebay.com.au/?_from=R40&_...All-Categories (http://shop.ebay.com.au/?_from=R40&_trksid=p4522.m570.l1313&_nkw=rca+filter&_sacat=See-All-Categories) I had done the same thing. Running wires on opposite sides of the car & still ended up with the hum with rpm sound. Because wires are 20 odd years old it would be hard to isolate the problem without disconnecting associated components.

hi mate sounds like a high resistance on the earth circut or gnd loop try running cables directley to the batt - terminal. for both the head unit and the amp. I see this all the time at work as iama auto elec. oler cars tend to have bad earth from battery to block and chassie. So check that out mate and see how it goes. You can messure for bad earth with a multimeter on volts from - terminal on batt to gnd point on amp should not be anymore then 0.04vs. cheers cameron
