Hey im new to the v8 scene. Im not completely clue less though when it comes to motors just not to clued up on v8s. Im wanting to build me a motor. 304 and stroke it to a 355, I was wondering if theres any tech books on how to do this? Also what would be the best cam for me to get i want to use the car for drags and burnout comps. Any other mods you recomend for me to do when i build it. All help appreciated Cheers

how long is a piece of string?? there is so many varibales here. Do you also want forced induction or stay naturally aspirated, manual or auto, carby or efi? The 3 main things that will make a car go are heads, cam and compression (well n/a anyway) I've always liked the Crane 286 cam. But a decent manifold and exhaust system are a must, as is a decent fuel system. If you have a look at the specialty book shops, there are plenty around that can help you.

An N/A stroker without an expensive intake manifold will make no more than 200rwkw... Like I said, N/A stroker motors cost big money if you want decent power, otherwise just stay 304ci and do the heads and cam
