What are the specific requirements for mounting a driveshaft loop? does it have to be bolted to the floor or is the chassis ok because i was thinking of bolting the 360 driveshaft loop throught the bottom of the loop to the part onto the factory 180 degree loop with an m12 high tensile bolt through it or is than not acceptable for a cert?

i posted some pics of mine on here a while back cant remember where though. from memory it must be made of 6mm by i think 50mm steel and must complete a full 360 degree loop around the driveshaft and must be located within 150mm of the driveshaft universal and if the driveshaft is two pieces you must have two loops. as for mounting them this is where my memory gets bad , it needs to be bolted through the floor with 4 bolts of a certain size i cant remember and on the other side of the floor on each bolt it must have a certain size plate or washer. i think thats everything hope it helps

Have a read through this... http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showth...ive+shaft+loop (http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.php?t=206565&highlight=drive+shaft+loop) I haven't seen anything specific about the bolts or washers needed to hold it on. I will be doing this to my car in a weeks time, so i'll let ya know.

Spoke to a certifier; The loops require 10mm bolts, and most certifiers like to see a decent plate/washer on the inside of the car too. Make sure your loop is 50mm x 5mm - there are some on Trade Me that don't meet the standards...

I got two generic loops off of trade me, and then I looked under the car... The front loop looks like it will be a right prick to fit. Might see if I can customise one of them to fit on the crossmember...
