yep its been done, know someone putting a TT ls1 into his vl atm too. its not THAT easy, theres heaps of little things like if you use the ls1 g/box the trans tunnel needs to be made bigger, and then you need to do the brakes, suspension, diff (although a 28 spline would be up to the job)...but the mounts are easy enough to get off the shelf now. as for pics, there was 1 in street commodores magazine not too long ago

its really just alot of cutting and welding, if you know what your doing its alright, but we've put an auto in his. this car isn't really being built on a budget, and all the works getting done between mates so couldn't really give a price.

cost me like 10 grand and i only paid 3 for engine and 6 speed also still haven't got an engineers so there is still plenty of money left to spend (did the work myself too), trans tunnel is big enough you just need to manipulate it a little with a hammer so the reverse lock out solinoid fits.... i did it in my driveway at home wasn't that hard, though wiring isn't easy

yeah with the wiring i will prob take it to an auto elec, is that 10 grand with everything done? With engine, box wiring and all that in?

17-10-10, 21:46 GMT+10#19 Very nice mate.
I'm planning on putting an LS1 into my vl project once I get the paint etc done....anything you can share would be good. Namely what you have to cut/bash/manipulate to get the thing in there.
Is yours auto or manual?
