Hey all, new to wiring up a cd player, but i'll explain as best i can.
Recently i got a DEH-1150 MPG Pioneer head unit, and decided i'd give it a go wiring into my 88' vl commodore. I've gotten everything in right (as far as i know) and everything is working fine...Except for the speakers that make a loud crackle when up anything above 1/4 of volume.
I've replaced speakers and speaker cable from speakers to head unit, but still same noise, any advice would be muchly appreciated.
Cheers D3F3CT.

just to clear something up, are you running 2 seperate wires to your speakers?
a mate of mine only ran one and they crackled like what your explaining.(he ran the 2 wires from the head deck into 1 wire then back out to 2 wires at the speaker) if that made any sense.

assuming you are not running amps...
you could have that issue for a few reasons.
1: the earth cable is connected wrong. the black wire from the pioneer loom needs to be screwed to flat bare metal (or connected to a suitable earth wire)
2: you could have a short on one of your speaker wires. check and re-check everything. solder and tape All connections... no excuses
3: the un-used wires in the pioneer loom all need to be insulated (pull on them with 2 fingers to massage the plastic over the copper so no ends are exposed. then tape the loom so you dont have an aborted octopus behind your deck)
check those three and you should find your problem.
[edit] the only other thing i can think of that would cause that is a reeeally flat battery. but if the car starts, thats not the issue.
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
