hey guys and girls,
was wonndering if you are able to connect a B&M shifter, the gearstick (ball) and the park break lever to a standard 4 speed box.
Like the way that some people have done it in a vl turbo.
I wouldnt want to use the whole shifter including the box, just the gear stick, so i can still keep the centre console intack and just have the gearstick changed.
has this been done?
how hard would it be to do?
if you have pics post them up and any help is appreciated, just thinking that it would look different and better than the standard gearstick.
any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul

There's a black VY SS (ute i think) with a powerglide and it runs it through the standard gearstick (completely standard, not even a B&M shifter)
So yes, i'm sure it can be done and someone has done it. Just ask on StreetCommodores and JustCommodores forum, i'm sure someone will help you out on there.
Also it's probably a good idea to check with a few transmission shops aswell.

From reading your post I am assuming you want just the B&M shifter lever coming up through the standard console???
If its a rachect shift you are after there is no point plus it cant be done on a four speed auto that you have to manually select 4th (D)
The factory PCM programmed correctly will shift gears much faster than what you could manually,
Also IF you could do it and select 1,2,3,D with the rachet shifter it would not work like a manualized auto.
Selecting 1st would still allow a 1-2 shift regardless. This is a safety feature programmed into the PCM (it can be changed by a tune)
