Have a blue 5.0, looking at pushing boost through. What options do i have in terms of con rod and pistons. STD stroke. Whether it be from a different make or just upgrade new parts. Need help/advice

otherwise what chevs pistons would be good for 9.0:1 comp ratio with offset ground crank and 5.7" rods

havent seen many off set cranks done these days due to scat and come racing ones going down in price making it easier.
who did the work on the crank?

Local machine shop. I either wanted to keep it STD stroke with forged rods and pistons. 9.0:1 comp. Or the offset grind with chev sj rods and forged slugs. But i don't no which pistons will give 9:1

How much boost do you intend to run?
the standard gear is actually really good, just put in some new rings, bearings, and bolts.
No $hit.
Also, why would you increase the compression ratio and boost it? Just leave it standard, the holden heads aren't that great at dissapating heat, and you will have pinging problems, unless you are on race fuel, change the heads, or have bugger all timing

i wouldnt be stepping away from the A9L rods, jake edwards made more power than you will ever want for a very long time with a set...

it hasnt got a standard bore. so no stock pistons. and its 308 blue not 304.. and ok. 8.5:1 ratio. when i sad 9:1 thats the mAximum i want. scat make rods which i ca get for 500. still stumped on pitons though. its 40thou over. i am aiming prob 14psi max. starting on half that prob. would i be better off with stroker bottem end? i wanted to go forged in case i waned t go futher in the future. but i guess if cast items wlast safely for a while at 14 psi i won mind gong cast, should prob get virgin 304 if i want to go further anyway. and sorry if my grammer ****, my keybard is half ****ed only works wen i wants.

If it is a blue 304, then the standard gear wont be as good as VN+
The cost of rods and pistons will be same, so for an extra 500-1200, get a stroker, but keep the comp down, holden standed heads have enough trouble dissapating heat and not pinging.
What heads are you putting on it? What camshaft are you going to use?
