The time and money you will spend on a chip or realtime kalmaker it would be better to go to a microtech to answer your question. But better again is the HALTECH sprint which does the same plus more than the microtech and has more outputs, better res in mapping (ms adjustments not load site as some people would mistake) tunable in VE on MS, doesn't hanve to be sent back to supplier for vehicle change and has better ecu connector than a ****smith home electronics kit.

I had a supercharged VS 5L with a tuned the factory Delco ECU and the end result was pretty good. The tune didn't cost anywhere what an aftermarket ECU install and tune would have cost

Ive got a microtech on mine. Bit heavy on the juice and I think I need a new aac as it hunts bigtime.

The delco is a FAR more powerfull ECU, it's just that it's complicated and people who don't know what they're doing get lost and blame the ecu/software. If you're going to do it yourself and are a newbie to tunning the microtech is far easier to learn on. If you are going to get someone else to do it take your pick, the microtech is realtime programmable and retunes will be easy and cheap(ish), the same goes for a kalmaker realtime ECU, but if you're just going to tune it once the burnt memcal delco can be done cheaply but is a pain in the ass to do it over and over if you're planning future mods.

hey guys thanks for the info.. not planing to tune it my self got a quote from automotive electronics for the kalmaker $1450 and then retune in the future would cost anywer between $350 to $600 depend on time and mods, thort it was a bit pricie but heard they kno ther 5 liters. and also nt performance in footscray recemend i go microtech, been threw him b4 as he built my vl turbo motor he was saying it would be cheaper in the long run to retune it once i build my 355.

i'm not a tuner as such, but IMO kalmaker is hidiously over priced. i'd honestly find someone that can modify the ECU to accept the appropriate size socket and flash/chip it, or find a decent emulator and download tuner pro or something along those lines

Haltech has much better options and would work out around the same price.
