Looks like a neat car. It looks like the outline of the pinstripe is still there, are you gonna try polish it out or something?

Mine wasn't, who knows if the difference between an Exec or SL would cause it though, give the black a scratch in a corner or something and see how strong it is.

Yeah it's been redone then. Your headlights are really clean surprisingly, protectors must have been there for 22 years! 15's should be on the way, steering wheel fixed up, remove mudflaps. Other than a sound system it doesn't really need anything hey.

I reckon you should have left headlight covers on or maybe replaced with new ones.
Reckon you should have left the stripes on too.
Clean car.

Only Berlina's and Calais' were blacked out around the windows from factory, regardless of year model.

That's funny, I want to know who would've done it then?
*cough cough* 16's steering wheel will come off, mudflaps will come off, sound system is done, I forgot to add that LOL. Gonna get the boot fixed and all the rust fixed, then I will start feeding her money!

Yeah? Leave the covers on? maybe, I'll see how it looks, just need the time to spend playing with her. Can I ask, why do you reckon I should have left the stripes? I like it better without Thanks man

Update: STEREO, CENTRAL LOCKING AND NEW ALARM! - INSTALLED
Got the car back 2 weeks ago, A mate had it, he was installing central locking (being an EXEC, it didn't have central locking as you probably know LOL). He did all 4 doors, installed a new alarm, wired it together with the central locking and got it working nice an neat
Took out the old standard Holden head unit and replaced it with my new unit. New speakers in the rear parcel shelf, replace the front standard speakers and new wiring all around. Installed amp, got it working, hocked the sub up with the amp.
So car is back with us, new alarm, central locking and sound system for under $1000.
Then last weekend the starter motor decided to die! I had bought the car with the starter motor on its way out (probably only bad part) so it was a matter of time. So $350 later, we were dosing away again

Personally I prefer stock/factory Pinstripes on a VL. IMO they look good also because of that original factor

Yeah fair enough. I wouldnt mind puting the headlight covers back on, it looks more orginal like you said and in a way cooler , but then again my brother would kill me LOL. As for the pinstripe, IMO I didn't like it, and it was faiding and ****, like the rear stripe was coming white, when you rubbed it, it came red for a second LOL and it think it looks much cleaner without, but thats me. And its already off, so too late to change minds LOL

18-08-10, 17:39 GMT+10#13 you've done the right thing in removing the pinstriping and head light covers..first use wax and grease remover to remove the glue then give it a good polish with a paint rejuvenating polish...and as has been said, someone would have painted the black window surrounds over the existing silver as its not berlina or calais.

Thanks man, I like it better without the pinstripe and head light covers
Thanks for the advice on the pinstripe, is there any specific band I should get? Anything I should or shouldn't do?
Thanks
