basically i took the car to my mates property and theyve got a huge concrete slab from were they had a big industrial shed, i took my car onto it. basically from a stand still just punched it an had it almost on full lock and it took abit to get the car sliding. but when it was sliding it was nothing special compared to my old vl

3.9's or possibly 4.11's for giggles

Personally i like the 3.08 ratio, it's just so laid back and really good all round ratio. but somthing like 3.45 or 3.7 would liven the car up abit, but would effect fuel consumption.
or something even shorter if your just gonna thrash it on the skid pan

yeh i was thinking of going 3.08 , basically my plan is to be able to punch it from a stand still and brake traction, because the only way itll brake traction off the mark is nutruel bangin iv done it once and ill never do it again. do you think 3.08 will do it? cheerss

depends on what mods you have on ur car

Nah if it's an auto V6 and you wanna fry the tyres from a stand still 3.08 won't do it, better off going atleast 3.45 or higher if your main aim is frying tyres off the line.

11-08-10, 14:57 GMT+10#14 88 Chaser- if your saying 3.9 will bring it alive. does that mean it will do good for what i want it for? because if its 3.08 from factory i higher diff ratio would make it harder wouldnt it?

11-08-10, 15:02 GMT+10#15 The shorter the diff ratio, IE 3.45:1, 3.91:1, 4.11:1 etc means the higher the torque multiplication by the diff. The shorter you go the easier it will be to spin up in laymans terms.

12-08-10, 06:25 GMT+10#17 For highway cruising go 3.08s
For good alround performance and daily use go 3.454s
For performance around town go 3.9s
For skids go 4.11s

12-08-10, 12:11 GMT+10#20 I've got 3.9s in my vs and it's daily.
Lots of fun and not as bad as people think. Only downsides I can think of is that it revs high on the freeway and can sometimes get annoying if you just want to get about.
