help! speakers cutting out.

i need help lol. i have just installed a new sound system in my vl calais. option audio 600wrms 4 ch amp, 2 option audio 6x9's 200wrms 260w peak. and pioneer head unit. with 4 volt preouts (front rear sub) alpine 4 inch 25wrms. have not yet hooked up a subwoofer. running amp in 2ch mode. amp is 2ohm stable. spekers are 4ohm. according to amp stats, 350wrms x2 4ohm bridged. anyway. went first time well. all the way up without any distorting. then cut out. now my rear speakers cut out at third volume. and alarm comes on the amp. not hot, has 14 volts at amp. front and rear generally wont go together. have 4awg power and earth, 16awg speaker. sony rcas. HELP whats goin on!

sounds like its drawing to much power but could be wrong and i wouldnt of thought so with an amp of that size but yeah not to sure

1. Use a multimeter. Turn the stereo off. Connect a multimeter to the speaker terminals and read the impedance. A blown speaker will read infinite impedance, whereas a speaker that is not blown should read 1. 2. Double check your earth. See that it has a clean connection(without paint). 3. Have a buddy turn the stereo up whilst you have the multimeter on the power wire(multimeter set at 20volts) and have the multimeter earth to the body. Watch the volts on the multimeter whist your friend turn up the music. Tell us what happens. 4. Check speaker polarity.(+ to + & - to -) See if the speakers are pushing out wards or pulling in wards.(they should be pushing out wards) 5. Last thing to try. Run your amp at four channel. Instead of 2 channel(parallel)

probably a silly question, have you got the speakers bridged correctly? ie coz some amps require you to use + from Ch1 and - from Ch2, but others will require you to use + from Ch1 and + from Ch2, if you get what I mean.
