From Caltex Website
"so Caltex will adjust the blend of ethanol from 70 to 85% between seasons to ensure your engine performs correctly."
Hence the E Flex 85

I wonder if the government will promote the use of this fuel, that if you were to modify a vehicle to run on it, you would need aftermarket fuel management systems.

03-08-10, 15:24 GMT+10#17 If it is going to vary between say 70 - 85% won't your afr's all be up the ****? One week it will be spot on and the next either rich or lean as? Is there any way to compensate for this when using aftermarket management?

you can run a wideband sensor in the exhaust, but they don't like being left in there, you can tell the ecu what a/f ratio your after and it'll will adjust to suit
well sm2's do that
and hearsay says the lt 16 might do it soon

03-08-10, 18:07 GMT+10#19 Not just fuel management systems. You'll also want to look at ALL of the rubber components in your fuel system as this stuff turns our old rubber into a cracked, dry, carbony mess.
It'll turn out to be a very expensive exercise for anyone with a car not designed to run on it.
