My suggestions would be: new front grille, respray front bumper - infact respray whole front end (seems to be the only part of the car that isnt mint paint wise), polished calais rims, chrome dump tip. Maybe colour code the gas filler if you could be bothered, otherwise - this thing has bigg potential Looks the goods!
Edit: Oh and! Get out some matte black paint from a spray can and respray that black mould under the doors, it'll look TEN times better just with that one thing resprayed.

thanks heaps Borci88. the silver for the trims is on its way yeah when i got my second car out of the shed this is going straght in there for a respray/tidy up. the gas cap is no longer connected to anything so that will soon get shaved off. I reckon i will pull or mask the lower trims up on the week end and do them as well.

Typical for the metallics to fade like that. Unless the car lives in a shed 24hrs a day they all seem to do it.
Don't paint the side skirts either. Take them off and get some Meguires Next Gen tyre shine and soak them in that. Might take a few coats to get them 100% but they come up an absolute treat and look more original

yeah i guess being as old as they are they have done a pretty good job really. sounds like a good idea i might try that instead.

Gday everyone, here are some pics of the Vl with a fresh polish, VE SS 18'' wheels and the lower trim painted.. there has been no other work done other than a new interior out of a donor vl, new front shockies and bushes and a wheel alignment.

17-11-10, 19:32 GMT+10#11 haha pumba, the aerial is huge! and still gets bad reception ha.. the tyres are 245/45 18s the original VE tyres.
got a new boost guage today as i had a feeling the old one wasnt accurate.. turns out i was right haha.. when on the higher boost setting it was running 18psi of boost - that would explain the spinning of the tyres when overtaking cars at 80 on a damp road and the lively back end around corners so turned it back to 13psi. OFF MY Ps NOW WOO ha can finally use 5th gear and use more of the power!. new bumper is on its way, paint it up and chuck it on, will be a good improvement!

I'm not sure if this will work but it should be a video of the exhaust note/spool out of the new exhaust
