Hello All, To help everyone out a bit, I've decided that once I pulled my dash apart, I would take a few pics putting it back together for you all. There is a basic tech thread already... and I mean BASIC but you can use that for guidelines on how to remove. FIRST OF ALL, this is a picture on all the pieces I removed from the dash. And this is how it looks with all of those pieces off. STEP 1: TOP DASH PIECE The top of the dash must be put on first. It has 5 screws in total and one nut in the middle at the top. There are 4 screws (2 either side) at the top and bottom of the round hole for the speakers. One secures from the bottom through a plastic clip that secures it to the metal that the dash sits on, the other is right up the top. There is one screw that sits right next to the cluster in amongst the screws that hold the dash in place. It should now look like this... Once you have secured the top dash pad on, use a small screw to attach the front of the main air vent to the dash, like pic below.. STEP 2: MAIN LOWER DASH PIECE The main lower dash piece is the long part that sits below the dash, that holds your a/c controls, the stereo and your glovebox. It is held on by a fair few screws, I forget the exact number, but I know thatinside the glovebox area, it has 5 screws by itself, on the very far right of the dash, there is another screw, and if i can remember correctly, there is one right in the middle at the top above the cd player (correct me if im wrong) There is also another screw that attaches the bottom left corner to a piece of small metal, just in front of the ECU

Good article so far.. I know I always hated doing this, I always end up breaking something and then having to hunt for a replacement.... Those screws are in the worst spots...

PART 2- Dash should now look like this... STEP 3: Front Panel, Head unit Surround This panel is held in by 4 screws. there is two screws at the top, and two at the bottom. There is also a "push in" plastic piece on the back of it, that pushes into a small rectangle hole that can be seen further up in the pics below a round hole. The two at the top cannot be undone unless the panel on top the cluster has been removed first. Do not chuck a "tanti" if you cant get it off with out removing that first. The two bottom ones can be undone at anytime by removing the sunglasses holder to gain access to it, unless you have a poverty pack then you don't need to worry about it. screws are found HERE and HERE... And now it should look like this.. STEP 4: Right Lower Panel This panel is not the easiest and requires you to hang perilously upside down with blood rushing to your head, trying to undo a stupid screw next to the steering column. It is not for the weak but I'm glad to see your still following. Now, there is from what I remember 4 screws also holding this bad boy one. Two screws on the top (just beneath the cluster) one on the very bottom corner that screws into a small metal piece (like the other side in front on the ECU) and one screw right up in the depths of the dash. Now this is the tricky part. In the picture below you can see the screw. For those who are blind it is the screw about 1 cm above the red wire going horizontally. You should be able to make out where it sits form the pictures above. STEP 5: Steering Column Covers Ahhh the steering column covers, what fun I had with these pieces. Basically two plastic pieces that enclose the steering column and make it look pretty. There is two pieces to this, the top and the bottom and also MUST be put on before you put on the plastic cover over the dash cluster. (NOTE: I stuffed up the order when putting the dash back together so the pics may look a little different, but follow the steps and you will get through it) This is how the pieces will go back together. As you can see in the second pic there a three holes where there will obviously be three screws. The top two screws basically hold the plastic bits together, but the hole by itself is screwed to the column (not the column but i don't know what that part is called) CAN BE SEEN IN PIC BELOW With all that put on it should look like this.. (as I said before, I ****ed up putting it back together, pics may be misleading but follow the steps) STEP 6: TOP CLUSTER COVER This part is the first piece to be removed when starting and the last major piece to be put back on when reassembling the dash. With that said, this piece only has two screws holding it in place. One is behind the "cruise control switch" and the other is behind a blank plastic square piece below the demister switch (for those taking it off). The vents basically push into place and the top of the dash has to line up with the corresponding knobs behind the cluster. Now that in it should look like this.. Basically where you started With all that done, its now time to put your speakers in, speaker covers, black plastic things where your feet are, air vents and glovebox and your done. Over time I will go over and fix up small bits of information a bit more in depth, but the basics is in there. Enjoy, also if you've got any feedback or I've done something wrong, let me know and I'll fix it up. -Jas Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
