VL fronts/bonnets have never been good with lining up nice,
Is it the oringinal bonnet from that car?
its all bout small movements in the hinge boots on the bonnet end, loosen them off enough so the bonnet with move slightly, close bonnet, see when it needs adjustment, push it down or across, what ever it needs, hopefully the bolts were tight enough to grip it when you open it up again, then tighten bolts
Lost ya yet??!!
also the rubber adjusters on edges of bonnet may stop any adjustment.
if you have replaced guards or had them unbolted they may have gone on in different positions.
loosen it off av a play around, its not an easy job but av a cuppa tea and take ya time.
also thai knock off panels will never ever fit right they will need alot of work!
Enjoy

Haha, I'm slowly finding out the joys of VL panel alignment.
Guards nosecone, and bonnet are all genuine items, but the guards aren't the original ones. The rubber adjusters aren't on the bonnet at the mo. All the panels have been on and off many times, and now it's finally time to put them on for the last time, but you're right, its a slow painful job. It seems like I have the gist of it, but trying to get it lookin good aint easy. Guess I'll just have to stick at it. Doh!

just because their is so much adjustment at the hinges, moving it 1mm at the hinge is like 5mm at the other end of the bonnet, its frustrating, definatly a 2 man job

Haha, thats the way to do it! I had already thought of doing the boot by getting in it. A little harder to do the bonnet with a damn engine in the way.

the boot for me was slighty easy , just loosen the screws and let gravity do its job

22-07-10, 14:09 GMT+10#10 definitely a two man job, when i replaced my bonnet i got my old man to give me a hand and just trial and error.
Any one know how to adjust the popper for the bonnet?? the screw/bolt holding it by the radiator was loose, tightened the cable and threw some locktite in but hasnt fixed the problem :\

22-07-10, 18:25 GMT+10#11 also to make it easier, remove the latch (bit with spring) so you dont have to keep popping bonnet, get it right then put it back on,it will effect the final adjustment slightly so bit more mucking about once its back on is needed, but makes life so much easier getting it lined up to start with.
