classic, certainly original. for a bit more induction sound, turn the air cleaner lid upside down. Sounds great when you boot it, but unfortunately doesn't make it go any better ---------- Post added 16-07-10 at 21:19 ---------- and be prepared to use heaps of fuel, they are atrocious on juice. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Very nice original VL. As others have said, don't molest it by going stupid with big ugly rims, excessive lowering, body kits and so on. If you really want some sound from it, extractors, high flow cat and 2-1/2 inch system will be enough. It's all I've done to my Calais and it's got a very nice note now. It was dead stock when I got it, know what you mean by dead quiet with that setup.

Looks mad, lose the bonnet protector, rear mud flaps and hubcaps get an HDT grille, paint the rims silver then add some centre caps. Next get some extractors and angle grind a piece out of the back of the air cleaner. It will retain originality but suit your age better. Good luck with it anyway, watch the scums, get a good alarm.
