it wont make a difference in ride height at all its just a bit of rubber that sits under the body incase it hits the axels

nah there not the bump stops, i just said that cause i didnt know what to call them. Boosted wagon said there a cusion for the spring but not an actual bump stop. I heard that it would make a difference in ride height. Thanks for your reply anyway

They're called spring seats, upper and lower. they're only about 15mm thick, but with them in they will squash up a wee bit, but take them out and yes it'll lower it 20ish or so mm. Just make sure your springs are still captive tho, you don't wana hit a bump and have your springs fly out.

I'm not sure if it's the same with a VL, but on later models (non-irs) the spring rubbers on the bottom are much thinner than the rubbers for the top. So I used the bottom rubbers on the top of the spring as well just so there wasn't metal on metal.

Just leave the supers in the front and throw ultras in the back, should get the height you're after

It made around 10mm difference on my VL. And make sure your springs are still captive if you remove them, you may need to shorten the shock to match
