steering wheel lock?

hey guys the steering wheel lock is stuck on in my car and i carn free it! does any one no of any tricks to fix it?

do you know how the steering wheel locks in the first place or what part it is? maybe I could have a look at that and try and unlock it.. otherwise i'll hafta grind it off! lol
