Hey guys, I purchased a gearbox off a bloke on these forums a while back which was reconditioned etc and didnt doubt it was in working order. Im not sure what i have done wrong but i have just put in my new engine and along with the gearbox. Now when i put it into gear, no matter were i have the selector, done by hand on the gearbox, while being up on the car stands it wont go into park and have the wheels lock up, it will spin in every gear i put it in. The car hasnt actually been driven yet, but every time i have tryed to start the car it would never start in park it would do exactly what happens when u try to start it in a gear it does nothing, it would only start in neutral, it has nistune, so i could see it on the computer that it was only starting in neutral. I have never started the car and tryed to put it into gear. Also has a 2800 stall and is ment to be shift kitted. Cheers.

Wheels will still spin with the selector in R D 2 L but box should lock up once in park. As for not starting in park maybe the inhibitor switch on the selector shaft is stuffed. Short out the relay for the inhibitor switch and then try to start it.

Sounds like cable or rod is out of adjustment to Me, or just the starter inhibitor swith and You have a single legger diff?

Cheers for the reply. Where can i find the starter inhibitor switch? ill look in my gregorys after and see if i can find it. Lockie, im actually putting it into gear by hand on the actual selector from under the car, pushing it as far back as i can to the back of the diff. Yeah just a single. Ill drink a glass of milk and go out there and push it as far back as i can and we will see how we go Cheers Alright; Got the starter inhibitor switch off, so ill organise getting another one. I put selector by hand as far back to the diff i could and it still spun in park. So yeah, dont understand why the wheels arent locking up.

Perhaps P is broken, missing, or not installed correctly.

Have You got the tail shaft on? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
