Hi guys, Ive got a vl with a fresh injected 355 stroker setup. Need a new Zorst system. Car has so far made 220kw rwkw but will produce just over 250 rwkw with fuel and ecu upgrade. Need to upgrade current exhaust setup (factory hsv headers, 2.5 " hi flow single cat to rear). What do you guys recommend? Headers ? Cats? Muffler? Exhaust size? Brands? Cheers fellas. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

pacies with the big primaries, twin 2.5' pipes with straight through mufflers dumped at the diff. i ran this on my vk 355 and it performed well, its a very loud setup tho.

With a twin 2.5" exhaust you can push it to about 300rwkw, for a good exhaust you cant beat di filippo

I had a single 3" with a 2 chamber Flowmaster in the middle and a resonator at the rear. Sounded good and was big enough for the power you’re chasing

i heard alot of bad stuff about pacies, has kinda put me off. difillipo is over rated and over praced and 3" sounds a bit too big, dont you lose back pressure?

if it's a 3" single it'll be fine... if it's a twin 3" it's complete overkill. 3" single is fine, 2.5" twin is also good.

I didn't think you could make past 160rwkw with a single 2.5" on a holden 5L N/A???

Just had another look at the car. A mate of line has thrown on some dodgy lookin aftermarket headers with ratty lookin twin 2.5 inch with quality twin hi flow cats. Don't like the look of the headers and sound of the Zorst

Twin cat system into three inch dump pipe should be ok, maybe go a 2.5in tail pipe over the diff if you think 3in is too big.

I made 320rwkw with 1 3/4 pacies and twin 2.5" using magnaflow mufflers. Only made an extra 7rwhp dropping the pipes so clearly they were working fine. I prefer the sound of a single, so i'd reckon a twin 2.5 into single 3 would be fine on this combo.

Sounds good aZ bout don't want it to drone and do my head in on the highway but still want a good deep note when I punch it, without the tinniness

drone generally comes from the lack of a rear muffler/resinator. at the very least run a resinator, if you hate drone stick another full muffler in. If you went twin 2.5" with a decent muffler on each then into a single 3 with another 3" muffler i cant imagine it would drone bad at all.

Heres how mine sounded. Specs in my post above, also there wasn't any cats in it (we don't have to have them in NZ) (http://s75.photobucket.com/albums/i317/EVLHSV/?action=view¤t=Outofthegarage.flv) ---------- Post added 24-06-10 at 09:50 ---------- Quote: Originally Posted by YBJLS4 [View Post] 3" sounds a bit too big, dont you lose back pressure?
