That looks really good! What about in-laying the rear number plate into the tail gate while you are at it i.e. VS maloo style?

nice work mate utes are heaps handy, i picked up one just the same from the hail damaged auctions, a black s3 vs auto ute 123k on the clock, would have had 3 or 4 minor hail dents in the roof that you could barley see, the bonnet had a few more but super minor damage, cant wait to see it finished man,

thanks for the comments guys it wasnt ment to turn into such a project but one thing lead to another and then i was at this stage haha im not to keen on maloo tailgates unless they are on maloos, but i forgot to mention that the rear number plate will be centalised and the number plate light welded up and shifted over as for engine mods, its a just a manual ecotec, with a bigger clutch, exhaust, extractors and lsd which is fine for a daily but..... i have heaps of ppl in my ear telling me to put in a 5.0 and smooth the bay, i even have a mate offering me a 2jz conversion that will bolt straight in. but its a daily and at this stage i think im just happy getting the body and interior a1 zak, not sure if im going to sell it, might slap a for sale sign on it and if it sells it sells not in any rush

Looks to be a good project for you Mat. Keep up the good work. Also, I have to agree with you Mat, Maloo tailgates are not my favourite. I can only just tolerate them on Maloo's. I would prefer not to have a number plate sitting smack bang in the middle of my tailgate also. Prefer underneath also. So glad you aren't thinking of doing that mod hey Good stuff mate. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
