Hi I am currently living in Japan and want to get a garage built on my block in Australia to long term store my VL Berlina Turbo Wagon. Wikipedia has the dimensions but I assume they are from a sedan (and Wikipedia is not 100% reliable).
Does any one have accurate dimensions as I want to build a garage that is under 12sq meters so it wont have to be approved by council.
Thanks in advance.

You're not going to be able to open your doors to get in the car lol.

lol 12 sq metres...
the wikipedia writeup you mentioned states size (even if its the best case scenario for you being wagon)
Length 4,766 mm (187.6 in)
Width 1,722 mm (67.8 in)
12/5=2.4
that would give you a max 2.4m wide option, best case scenario.
you could fit a sedan in there... just, and still probably get the door open.
i measured the space i keep mine in, it has about 5700mmx3000mm, but that is wide enough to get a passenger in their side too.
have you thought about checking the legality of a shed? might be a better idea... could still lay concrete/pavement and bolt a shed down to that.

I stuffed around for 6 months trying to satisfy the councils requirements and even got a professional quote (not mates rates or anything) to do it which the council said was to cheap for them to believe it. The cost of the application is based on the cost to build so I imagine they want it to be as high as possible.
It is for long term storage so I don't care about how easy it is to get in the car. I can get in through the wagons back door and the open garage door for the one time in however long it will be that it needs to be moved.
From what I have heard the wagon is actually shorter than the sedan but I don't know how much by, I also don't know if the Wikipedia article measures the widest distance (ie across the rear vision mirrors or whether it just goes across the body) I cant measure it because I am in another hemisphere to where the car is.
Thanks for the replies but if anyone has any accurate dimensions I would really appreciate it.
