Hey guys
I've been looking around for a while and have bought a few things. I am putting together a sound system. I will do a small boot install also for the amps, I have already bought the plywood and carpet for it (it is mainly to cover the surge tank)
So far my system is uninstalled and consists of:
Deck: JVC KD-AVX2
Sub: Alpine Type R
Sub Amp: JL audio G1700

Rear Speakers: Alpine type R coaxials
Front Speakers: Unsure?? At the moment I am thinking of the JL audio C2-600 splits. Unless someone else can suggest anything better?
4 Channel Amp: Will be buying the JL audio G4500. Unless There is anything better??
So could anyone help me out and let me know which 4 channel amp and splits to get? As I said I am looking at the JL Audio c2-600 splits and the G4500 4 channel amp.
The amp and splits was quoted $716 from jb hifi.

Abit of mix matching there. I'd would stick with Alpine to run your amp and speakers. As they say different amps with different speakers can cause headaches. As amps & speakers run different ohms, watts & resistance. When I was 18 I brought a kicker 654 amp with these wicked looking pioneer subs. 3 months later the amp was going into protection mode all the time because the pioneer subs where placing to much load on the amp. The 654 kicker amp was 300rms & the sub was 350rms. But still because the sub had less resistance it was overloading the amp. After I had the amp repaired I placed some kicker impulse speakers on & had no drama's. Good old days.
If you where the use a alpine subs I would recommend a PDX-5. It's all depends which amp & speakers you using.
Have a look at these & tell us what you think.

Yeah my original idea was to go a full type R system, a few of my friends have them. I can see what you mean about mixing and matching but I made sure I got amp for the type r sub that wouldn't be overloaded.
I went in to jb hifi today and had a listen to the type R splits vs the jl audio c2600 and the JL were a lot clearer. Also tried them with different amps and i still liked the JL.
Like I said originally I wanted all type R but since seeing and hearing the JL audio speakers they seem pretty neat.
My friends have type R systems and yeah they go hard but I want something a bit different

Yeah I like Type R systems. Like I said I originally wanted one which is why I have a type R sub and coaxials. But looking for something different. The JL audios were a lot clearer as well. Nice set up btw

Thanks, yeah JL subs have a great reputation. I reckon go the JL mono block & JL sub. Can't go wrong. So will you be powering your sub via a amp & running your coaxials by the deck?

I'm gonna stick with a Type R sub and JL monoblock. Sounded good in my old car.
Then I will have 2 type R coaxials in the back, and 2 splits (maybe jl audio c2600) All 4 speakers will be powered by a 4 channel JL audio amp.
