UPDATE:
I changed my front brake pads, breaks like a dream! its amazing compared to the old ones! Got my new headunit in, fits like a glove looks the goods too. Only got cheap 6x9 in her at the moment (in the parcel shelf). Fitted the airal in, bigges **** of a job! Put the air con controler back into place, got it all working. Re-gassed it! Washed it, put my chasers back on (one tyre was flat, got it fixed day after it happened) put the car cover back on and called it a night! Im soo happy with it! its looking good!

sl generally is a pov pack, no PS or A/C
exec is an sl with AC and PS
yours has the berlina blackout so i would immediately think its a berlina however the interior and flaking paint around the rear 1/4 window say otherwise.
so i say exec aswell.
paint looks ok why respray? i'd recommend some 16" ceptors (they look awesome i had some on my vy) with proper sized tyres. convert the rear end back to sl or exec, and tidy restore first before modification.
as for the best brand exhaust redback + lukey have ebay packages which are fine however you should just grab a cheap second handy off of this site for $1-200. definately get a set of extractors in the meantime and a standard airbox. with fresh electrics (dissy cap / leads / plugs / coil pack etc etc.) she will run beautifully.

Yeah im starting to think its an SL. I was peeling off some paint today (where it was flaking) and it was white underneeth, so im thinking its an SL but the paint job tells me other wise.... do SL's have this paint job? It has SL badges in the dash (above the aircon) The owners befor me were western boys (Sunshine, Altona area) and were into there VL's so i gess they were fixing it up a bit? Exec, SL its still a VL!
As for the re-spray, i was going to change the colour, but have decided on just giving it a freash up of the standard paint. I was going to re-spary it bacause im planing to build a calais mock-up
Im not to sure if i should get a standard air box or keep the poddy set up, my mechanic told me he would pass it with the poddy set up, so im not too fussed about it. As for the exhaust, Im pretty sure it already has an exhaust but Ill have to look into it. It has pedders! So no need to get springs

Yeah, I like the colour, and its a genuine GM colour. Were your extractors from ebay? What are they like?

I'v decided not to build up a calais mock up, saw a calais today, really looked at what I had todo, its just too much and would be better to just buy a calais. And it would cost too much too. Calais nose cone $500, side skirts $200, rear calais garnish $120 - $150, then to begin on the inetriour, its just too much. So I got discrouged on doing a calais mock up and I'm just gonna restore it back to an exec
Should be fun!

^^^ Listen to Zac
Pretty sure I have Hi-tech Extractors also and they do sound pretty mean. Good choice on staying with the Exec colour scheme, go like mine Orig.

Michael was telling me to get a 3" dumpy, but I was like..... dont know what looks good on VL's? When I see a 3" dumpy, I think turbo, so if they see it on my car? Wouldn't mind the standard tip, or a simple crome tip....

13-07-10, 22:02 GMT+10#15 Who cares what other people think I reckon 3" looks the best so that's what I'm gonna do, eventually it'll be backed up with a turbo but meh, not high on the list atm

13-07-10, 22:26 GMT+10#16 Ive still got the standard exhaust apart from extractors, but what im doing when i have the money is putting a 3" mandrel bent system with a 2 and 1/4" Tip on it to kep the back pressure up and when i turbo it just take off teh tip

25-07-10, 12:30 GMT+10#17 Cars gone, cant get a roady, so now I'm thinking of my options. I dont think I can wreck it, not much to get out of it.... Still gonna try to get a dodgy roady but it so sad to get rid of it. Its sleeping out side my window, every morning I see her and feel guilt. But dad wants it gone so it will have to go
