Hey Guys Just wondering how accurate everyones fuel gauge is, For starters i get about 400ks out of a full tank "From full to Red line" which i think is preety sad and thats with moderate driving with occasional blimp. Now, my gauge was on the red line so i thought i would fill up it only took 42 litres im preety sure and costed $56 dollars as i use Premium. As far as research goes VL sedan standard tank 63L, does that mean that i still have a crap load more fuel below the Red low indicator? Or am i just a pot head, so initially that means i could get more out of a tank? Anyones help here would be great? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

my gauge is a little out, ran out of fuel JUST before it hit the redline... i averaged 450ish a tank and had a 3k stall converter in it

A lot of them wear out and when the needle gets under a quarter, falls to empty, frustrating when your on a road trip. Taking your cluster to a shop these days is pretty normal.

By the sounds of it my one must be still preety accurate. So know one has ran below the read and seen how long they have gone?

Thats running real rich I have a spare malpassi fuel reg i was thinking of chucking it on and running the car a little leaner. Is it possible to run it a little leaner so i can get better fuel consumption and a little more power?

when my fuel guage is working, cause most of the time its just chillin below empty not getting a reading. But when it is working its pretty accurate, so when it starts to work after i go over train tracks or sumthing bumpy and gives a reading around the red marker, i pull into the next petrol station lol. and btw i only manage to get about 300k's to a tank, but thats fanging it. for some reason i find it hard to drive economically :s. I reckon the most accurate fuel guage is the trip meter if the fuel consumption is consistent. And if its working lol

my fuel gauge doesn't work, so i'm always under the red mark, lol The fuel smell could be a blocked breather, i had a look at mine the other day, and found one of my lines is about 5mm to short, fuel actually trickles out if it's got enough in it, will be replacing all my fuel lines this week, they look pretty seedy.

i fill up when my odometer gets to around 400 kays, i put in 45 or so liters, so i still have 1/4 of a tank left... i hopefully will be getting an autometer fuel guage for the ****box, so it might be a little bit more accurate

yeah with my dash, it just "chiil's" on red, go over some bumps or give it a tap and it works perfect, my Km's thing doest tick over so i dont know how many km's im getting, but im pretty sure im getting over 350 a tank. 88 holden, totally agreed "i find it hard to drive economically :s." ha
