hey guys, after having my old yellow vl that i made turbo sold, ive wanted to get another one ever since. with the cops beginning to crack down hard on laws nowadays ive decided to keep it moderately standard for now and work on cleaning it up as a nice roller, and possibly working the motor further down the track.
Its a genuine vl turbo manual formula pack, that came with fairly standard trim and features, with the paintwork a little faded from time in the sun over the years. I bought the car from the second owner, who had all of the cars information up to when he purchased it.
When i got the car, it needed new tyres, so i took the chance to hunt down a set of walkinshaw 16's which have some nice dish, to go with the new tyres.
Not a long while ago, i also was lucky enough to get given a complete vh sle with complete trim still intact. I decided that the red trim would go really well with the formula red badging and my number plates, so i pulled apart most of the trim pieces and fitted them to the vl. The rest of the interior panels such as the console and headlining, im going to paint them black and replace the carpets and fabrics black also.
My plans are to fix up some of the cracked bumpers and repaint the faded parts of the car. I also am in the process of getting a front formula lip and side skirts to go with the rear bobtail spoiler in black.
Hopefully will be looking nice for cruise for charity when it comes around. I will keep updates on the progress of the car.

UPDATES!!
spend the long weekend painting up all the new bumper bars and moulds that ive sourced for a few weeks. finally all painted an im pretty happy with with it. I also fitted the side skirts and gave the them a clean as they had clear coat marks all over them. Finally starting to look quite neat now with all the bumpers all clean and tidy .
I also degreased the engine bay and cleaned it up much nicer, plans are to respray the rocker cover red as its all cracked an ugly. Pretty happy with the progress on the car so far.

a few updates!
The spoiler is now in grey primer, just havent got around to getting top coat as ive been buying lsd diff parts (car must have had diff replaced an is only single spinner unfortunately).
Got rid of the ugly straight cannon pipe in favour of a nice dump tip on the exhaust, looks pretty fat! Also, a while ago i got a set of newish taillights and last weekend decided to paint them up along with the garnish, which they also came up pretty well. The old ones were crap an faded, and they were different shades too. Also debadged the garnish commodore logo too .
The car does need a new bootlid as it has got rust around the holes for the spoiler so i decided not to paint it until i get a new one, hence why it looks crap around the spoiler outline.
Also been slowly painting up all the console bits an pieces to go with the new trim because the vh consoles obviously wouldnt fit in plus i didnt really like it either. ill get some photos of that when the trims all finished.
Also, notice my sticker that i got made lol!!

Just some more updates on the car. After some thought I decided to respray the bumpers and spoiler back to the original single tone FORMULA colour, and am really happy with the result. looks so much better all cleaned up and the back looks really clean now with the taillights all painted up. Also got the new venetions in, pretty happy with them also. Thanks for your feedback guys.

15-08-10, 11:55 GMT+10#12 hey guys just an update. bought a front lip for the car to go with the skirts. Gives it a nice race look i reckon. not the original lip but im happy. also got some red walls to go with the red and silver theme. had it at c4c last week at homebush too, was good fun.
Pretty much happy with the car. Now just gotta do some mechanical maintenence on it for a bit, timing belt/new water hoses etc..

yeh bud fully adjustable, an have em in the rear too. But just the usual way you do it with the nut and thread sitting under the spring then sitting in a round upper guide at the top.
i built em myself an sourced all parts separately, got threads and nuts from a place in vic, and then just pedders heavy duty shocks. cost me around 1100.. was very happy with the price.

haha not sure if that was a dig or not!!! but no wakas mate, yeh i just like it like that, know it doesnt have a cooler but it is a turbo so i can half get away with it haha!!! Just goin for semi race style with the car so.
Its still only my daily for now, got my other project in the garage so im not going overboard with 50psi turbo or anything lol, an only had simple mods planned for it as im keeping it for originality (still have factory trim stored so can change it back if i like) an will probably store the whole car eventually when i get another one for proper towing lol. But thanks for the bump champ love you all haha
