Custom boot layout with inlayd sub/s. Long term - Injected 5000 back by a T56 6 speed and lots of other things... New plan, 300rwhp turbo setup built ready for my full licence. I never plan on selling my car. I bought this car at the old age of 16 - still on my Ls, on the 9/9/09. I always loved VLs, wanted one and it had to be manual.. hate driving autos. I told my oldman and he said i better start working, so i did... i was a labourer when i was about 15 for $100 cash a day working in school holidays. I worked hard and saved it all knowing it'd pay off one day. I called up countless number and test drove around 7 or 8 VLs, all over priced or in crap condition, except for 3. I was going to buy one neat as SL 5 speed from a car yard until the guy backed out on the deal. Another was a hi priced berlina with a calais conversion and 5 speed of ebay untill it was sold it from under me. Third time lucky, i found mine on calais turbo by chance, got it for $2200 in well taken after, yet rusty conditon. (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/8824_128399654441_6707640_n.jpg.html) (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/168285_128399669441_1707183_n.jpg.html) Just leaving from the blokes house to drive back to mine as we jsut signed off the deal. Man - i could not stop smiling, never been so happy. It runs and drives well. I had to a few things to it when i got it.. reco'd radiator, water pump, timing belt and tensioner a CAS later on as it is afterall a VL lol. Next was a new stereo... Got a killer deal on 4 speaker, deck, amp and a wiring kit. Bought a 12inch MTX for ebay for $30 and pick up an amp for it. Made a new parcel shelf out of 15mm MDF upholserted in blue carpet and screwed up from the boot through existing holes, looks neat. Next made a sub box to neatly squeeze in opposite the spare tyre, wedged underneath the boot gutter, also neat (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/8824_130698434441_2314611_n.jpg.html) (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/8824_134708094441_6506035_n.jpg.html) I picked up a cheap exhuast on ebay second hand, 2 1/4 with a single muffler and came with a spare empty cat for $50. Put it on and was impressed with the note! (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/24046_381270884441_6299758_n.jpg.html) Got my P's First go (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/25786_379854289441_7853844_n.jpg.html) Then came the body work which it still in process. Getting all of dents straightend out, and cutting out the fairly bad rear rust and welding a new panel in. My panel beater is a lazy **** and only works sundays lol So its coming along slowly. But he does very good work. (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/31321_389558299441_2999540_n.jpg.html) (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/31321_389558314441_6631300_n.jpg.html) Donor panel... absolutely no rust! And i mean not even chipped paint and surface rust. Bargained em down to $150 lol (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/31321_389558324441_899487_n.jpg.html) Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

UPDATE! All the dents and dings have now been beat, bogged and primered and it is now straight as gun barrel. (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/26687_403200254441_6915493_n.jpg.html) The keener eyed ones amongst you will notice its got no boot and for good reason. Started the serious body work today got the rear window and boot lip rist cut out and the panel in. Got the boot lid off and popped the rear window out, it was not pretty! Like, bad.... After it had been cut out. (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/26687_403184869441_3439816_n.jpg.html) On the donor panel, the glue used to hold the window in was very thick, sticky and moist... on mine it had fully dried out, absorbed moisture and rusted away my window lip And the car looking like this (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/26687_403184904441_598137_n.jpg.html) (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/26687_403184909441_3828879_n.jpg.html) Much better - that took no time at all (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/26687_403200239441_6218066_n.jpg.html) Yet to be welded in yet, just made to fit and screwed in - thats next week. Welded in! (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/35865_405020719441_918371_n.jpg.html) All bogged up and sanded. Just needs a final sand, paint, and the window to be put back in - and its done No more rust blowing out, no more leeking boot. (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/34299_407511919441_6182350_n.jpg.html) (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/34644_409229844441_2013109_n.jpg.html) Its getting there! When its done it'll of still worked out to be cheaper then buying other rust free VLs for $4000+ which i was looking at, and now i know its totally rust free and been done properly as im planning on keeping the car for a while... Lovley HSC trials exams are slowing my down a bit with progres.. still reppin the patches! I hooked up all my speakers to my speaker amp and tuned them along with the sub, sounds nice and loud I was hunting around everywhere for a LSD and was almost going to mini spool it when i couldnt find a LSD for less then $300.. Until i found a 2.92 25 spline borgwarner LSD from a 302 XD falcon for $80 (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/45482_426360024441_3690697_n.jpg.html) Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I know, i know.. im going to be using my 3.45 gears. The 2.92 ratio LSDs accepts bigger diff gears... ie 3.45 VL gears. Where as the more common 2.77 25 spline borg warner LSDs are not interchangable with other bigger diff gears.

Went out to WSID the other night for $50 of fun. Ran 3 16.3's and one 16.2. Atleast im consistently slow (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/62837_439952389441_205075_n.jpg.html) The car is currently sitting on axle stands with no diff in it as it is in the process of a LSD. My LSD centre is at the diff shop currently being reco'd with two new bearings and being re shimmed so itll be tight as Im going to get them to fit it to my stripped diff, then ill come and bolt it all back into the car. Itll be good fun at an aggressive driver training course that im attending shortly and during '+100hp' wet weather. Hey, im a P Plater. (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/62837_439952394441_741371_n.jpg.html) (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/62837_439952404441_1107069_n.jpg.html) Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

LSD = a success. Its very tight and is very good fun in the wet weather My OG metal centre caps (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/64668_444358109441_2780505_n.jpg.html) Plan for the car is to make it semi berlina spec... ive already got original berlina tail lights, and im going to red pin stripe it on the bumper trim. A local graphic shop sells 10m rolls of 3M automotive grade pin stripe in varying colours and sizes (3mm size...3,6,9,12) for $20! Ill use 6mm. My inspiration (for rims aswell.. i (L) pentagons. Except white body colour SL spec door frames.) Started the front windscreen. The rust does look to be nearly as bad as the back (touch wood) but still needs doing.. do it once, do it right. I took all the plastic trim of and peeled of the rubber molding. I wanna keep the trim for the OG look and it luckily didnt snap, just broke the plastic tabs underneath. No biggue, ill just glue them back on (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/66643_446469459441_5195785_n.jpg.html) Piano wire (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/66643_446469449441_4159854_n.jpg.html) WOOOOO Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Got the front windscreen out. Not much rust in there, just a few little holes and some rust bubbles. Despite everyone telling me the windscreen would snap, it wouldnt of cracked if i didnt accidentally pinch the glass with a pair if pliers when i was trying to pull out the trim clips. I was quoted $180 for a new screen fitted with a new seal, which isnt bad at all. (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/71823_446950689441_7675569_n.jpg.html) Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Cheers man. Yeah i wasnt sure about the windscreen, i asked my beater and he wasnt fazed, thought we might be able to peel it back and get paint in there. Not much has been happening lately. Got a blue berlina/calais sunnies holder to add to my berlina theme. The console looked empty without it, much better now. (interior pics soon) Im getting my hood re-aligned soon as it drops off on the passenger side on the front, and steps down slight on the passenger guard. It $hits me up the wall! Im now currently working full time, and when i get back from schoolies in two weeks ill have not but $$$$ for the VL fund The best quote i got for a respray was $1500-$2000 for 2 pack shut door job. Dont get too excited... thats for myself doing all the sanding and masking, and not including bumpers+bars (spraying them myself) Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Just been busying myself with little things until the cars resprayed... I wired up my oil pressure gauge with a sender of a berlina. Got a klaxton horn, good for a laugh and beeping chicky babes. New wheel nuts so i can put my center caps on when i respray my chasers. Got a central locking kit and top of the line alarm (2 stage immobiliser, rock sensor) Also two 6.5inch JBL component speakers for the front so itll be sounding good. Me and my panel beater are going to prep the car for a respray in the next week or two (after christmas)... welding and bogging up the two locating holes from the old windscreen trim, shaving the passenger door lock, sanding it, spraying and feathering the paint chips, masking it up and ill then remove all the exterior trim like bumpers, mirrors door handles, wipers etc etc. Cant wait! PS Im always wanting to hear feedback or suggestions off people!!

Installed my new component speakers and central locking motors. Much better sound and can take alot more power. Im physically installing the central locking and alarm myself.. installing the motors, running all the wires, drilling grommet holes and running wires to the doors etccc.. and im then taking the car to be wired up professionally. (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/78181_486324314441_5793562_o.jpg.html) (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/169172_485223624441_7128220_o.jpg.html) I hid my tweeters in the factory speaker hole which i was pretty happy with (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/78181_486324324441_6536306_o.jpg.html) Some body give me feedback/suggestions I feel like im updating in my private diary or something lol Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Started rubbing my car back for a respray (finally) Stripped all the trim off and got busy with the wet and dry. Im feathing out as many chips as possible but some of the bigger chips will need to be primerd and then sanded again... there is alot of paint chips. (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/164498_492711824441_7205645_n.jpg.html) The door bars are a pain to take off. I was expecting the worst (snapping) but with a long sharp knife and some patience they came of eventually. (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/133178_492711964441_6272440_o.jpg.html) Resprayed my chasers aswell, chrome center caps, chrome trims and chrome nuts (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/167412_494924524441_5211952_n.jpg.html) Restored front badge (http://s801.photobucket.com/user/just_juice_87/media/Facebook/My%20VL%20patches%203/132567_493870394441_2450229_o.jpg.html) Otherwise ive just been busying myself with stuff like finish off the wiring for alarm/central locking and respraying my mirrors, wiper arms, badges etc. ITS GETTING THERE!
