Hey all, my vt clubby s2 has gotten the dreaded dash light fault , all lights come on ( trac control, oil , air bag ) ect. I've ordered a repaired abs unit but have since found that similar symptoms can be cause by other faults bar the abs module failing. Im starting to think it may not be the abs module as my battery light had been flickering on and off for some time and now it seem the alternator has given way as it died on me just the other day. Pulled the battery terminals off when the car was running and she just dies. Is this caused by a faulty abs module ??? So Im left scratching my head anyone have any ideas on the situation?

could be abs sensor attached to the diff, could be clock spring in steering wheel or could be the abs module itself dude! cheers

Cheers mate but it seems to me that the abs module is one problem and coincidently the alternator has also packed up at the same time. Anyone know if the abs module fault can cause the alternator to stop working also?

I've changed hundreds of these bloody ABS modules. It will make your dash go spastic like a Christmas tree on meth. However the alternator packing up is just coincidental. Make sure you don't have a leaky power steer pump/hose, as it leaks directly on top and alternators don't like power steering oil. Just ask any falcon 6 cyl owner.

Thanks mate just replaced the abs module and it seemed to cure the dash lights , il take it for a decent drive tomorow and see for sure. But the battery light still flashes seems like a failing diode in the alternators regulator, if leaking p/s fluid is the culprit does the alternator generaly need changing or just a hit of wd40?

if P/S fluid is there it needs to be done. Generally we open it up check out the rectifier, if thats ok, we machine the comm, throw in a regulator and test it. All systems go rattle can it and bolt it in. The early mitsubishi alternators in the VT where known to have a ****ty reg. Just make sure you get the P/S checked,.
