just noticed a thread in another state section about c4c, got me thinking, usually we would hear about a date by now? (mid may)
looked on street commodores and they are no longer running it in perth...
perth street scene has now taken over, but there are no more details as of yet... there website is here:
http://perthstreetscene.com/2010/04/...ts-a-new-home/ (http://perthstreetscene.com/2010/04/09/c4c7-street-commodores-cruise-4-charity-gets-a-new-home/)
just wondering if anyone has any more details... isnt it normaly around late september? who's got the inside gossip?
sounds like it needs some work, im just hoping they have more going on than they are letting on as we are already in the 5th month, and its such a big day that if propper care and time isnt taken could result in a few thousand commodores confused and split up and spread out over the freeway... oh wait, that was both the years before, either way, i hope it atleast happens, i missed driving last years!
There are no dates anywhere for perths C4C7 but in one of the street commodores emails not long ago they had released all the dates for each state and going by that email perths date was set as:
Sunday, September 19th
I think you will find that St Commodores are still running it, but there is a new organiser in WA that's all. Ben Pratt and Ryan Masters have been organising it for the last few years, but they have handed it over to Josh to organise.
yep unconfirmed date is Sunday 19th September. The cruise here in WA has never really been run by SC, just a bunch of volunteers that have so far done a great job and hopefully PSS are just as good.
haven't missed one yet and i'll be there again this year! pray for some good weather this year!
2010 has brought with it an air of change for the Street Commodores Cruise for Charity, and in conjunction with our generous partners Meguiars, House of Kolor and Liquimoly we are embracing the exciting new direction for the event.
Cruise for Charity has supported the Starlight Childrens Foundation for all of its six years of operation however, after $500,000 worth of support, we have recognised the need to support the myriad other charities and foundations that operate in Australia.
Wanting to assist sick children in some way we came into contact with the Childrens Hospital Foundations Australia, of whom many may not have heard. It is this anonymity and under-recognition, supplemented by the incredible reach of their services that won CHFA our support as the Cruises sole benefiter for 2010.
CHFA is the national partnership of five of the countrys leading Childrens hospitals:
Womens and Childrens Hospital Foundation, South Australia
Royal Childrens Hospital Foundation, Victoria
Royal Childrens Hospital Foundation, Queensland
Sydney Childrens Hospital Foundation, New South Wales
Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, Western Australia
Combined, these hospitals treat and administer care to over 1,000,000 sick and injured kids each and every year. Funds raised are distributed evenly throughout the hospitals in each state and go towards clinical research, equipment and patient/family hospital services, that otherwise would not exist.
So what does this mean for all participating in Australias largest Commodore event this year? In a nut shell, the money you hand over at your Cruise for Charity event this year is poured straight back into your local Childrens Hospital by CHFA.
In 2010, given the events now unstoppable momentum and exponential growth as exhibited in previous years we see no reason why the benchmark set by 2008 and 2009 of $150,000 of national donations cant be met and exceeded!
We are excited about the partnership with CHFA and urge you all to donate as generously as you have done in the past for this seriously deserving cause.
The national calendar of events is as follows:
Queensland - Sunday, August 1st
Sydney - Saturday, August 7th
Western Australia - Sunday, September 19th
Victoria - Sunday, October 3rd
South Australia - Saturday, October 9th
Tasmania - Sunday, October 17th
Liam Quirk, Editor of Street Commodores, and Managing Director of Meguiars, House of Kolor and Liquimoly Bruce Morrison meet with patient Casey Hughes, 16, at Sydney Childrens Hospital to announce the new partnership with CHFA
These dates are prone to change and the best way to keep up to date with the latest Cruise for Charity happenings is to log onto the Street Commodores internet forum, or make contact with the Street Commodores office.
We look forward to seeing you all supporting the event in 2010!
Regards,
Liam Quirk
im thinking i might come but not stay at the first meet point, or maybe park at my mates place around the corner, walk in pay my stuff and then cruise to the 2nd meetpoint and wait for everyone there
its just too **** pulling out of that first meetpoint, i hate sitting in traffic jams with this clutch.
Date changed to the 12th of septemeber instead of the 19th, going of the PSS site.
1st Meet Point: City West Car Park WTF!
11:30am with 12:30pm Leave
Leaving from there straight down the freeway all the way down to the race way.
Final Meet Point: Barbagello Race Way
Here's the link if you wanna read what they have said.

It took us a while to get our heads around changing dates and whatnot, but it is all locked in. 12th September is the date. To clarify, it is most definitely still a Street Commodores event however PSS have stuck their hand up to organise it on our behalf, with former coordinators stepping down for a well-earned break.
The things the PSS boys have planned sound wild. Just wish I could get there myself!
