vl 3.45 crown and pinion into a vs 3.08 irs lsd

ok my vs ss has a 28 spline 3.08 irs lsd in it ive been told if i get the crown and pinion out of a standard 25 spline 3.45 vl diff i should be able to fit it in my 3.08 diff i realy need to know some answers will this WORK?

meaning you can use crown and pinion from a live axle diff in an irs diff??
